Newsletter no 3  -  Week Ending 21st October 2022

From Miss Hopkins....

It’s difficult to believe that it’s the last day of term, as it feels like no time at all since we came back in September! It has been so lovely to see the children settle in to their new classes and get their teeth into some fabulous learning – I’ve seen some great lessons on my walks around school. It’s been a busy and productive term, with a number of sports competitions, trips and musical outings taking place, not to mention our super Harvest Festival. Thank you to those of you who have supported our new internally-run breakfast club, and the after school activities. It was great to listen to the school council feed back their thoughts of which clubs we should run next term. I myself am very excited about Lego Club! The Green Team have got off to a tremendous start too, thanks to Mrs Moorhouse, and will be directing their efforts towards a beach clean-up over the half term – fabulous stuff!

I hope that you all have a well-deserved break over the next week, and make some lovely memories in the autumn sunshine (fingers crossed the rain stays away). Take care everybody, we’ll see you bright and breezy for Term 2!

House Event

This afternoon we held our first house event with a penalty shoot out.    Each house had 25 shots at goal, Scotney proved victorious with 16 shots scored!

Even the rain stayed away!

Well done everyone for taking part and to Mr Ross for supervising.

Parent Evenings

A reminder to book your appointments for Parent Evening via Google Classroom.

Please can we ask that you are mindful of our 'Top Tips' when having difficulty and try these.   If you are still having problems please call Mrs Macmillan.   For obvious reasons we are unable to take requests for appointments via the classroom (often the choice mentioned is taken).

Class 1 - Phonics Parent Workshop

As an alternative to Open Classrooms, Class 1 are opening a session to Parents of children in Class 1 to join Mrs Everett for a phonics workshop in the Hall on Thursday 3rd November at 9am.

This will be great opportunity for parents to see how phonics is taught and how you can help your child at home.

We hope that you can come along.
