Class 3 Wellie Walk

On Tuesday 5th July Class 3 enjoyed a Wellie Walk with Miss Potts, Mrs Brown and Mrs Moorhouse.   They walked over 3 miles and learned lots about our local environment and wildlife.

Highlights were of course, snack breaks and lunch in forest school!

Move UP Day and New Parent Evening

We were very excited to have met our new starters for September 2022 on Move Up Day on Thursday. You forget how little they are and how much they grow up in just a year!

Everyone in school enjoyed their morning with new classmates.    Some Year 6s were deployed to be helpers in the classes 1 and 2 and they did us proud.

We were pleased to welcome back into school Miss Bignell who will be taking Class 2 from September 2022 along with Mrs Martin for Mrs Gibbs' maternity leave.

Year 6 Sports Morning

Is on 18th July at 10:00 - 12:00. We would ask that children and parents come in wearing PE kits and house colours. There will be a small amount of parental participation, but no sprinting races, we promise! You might want to brush up your egg and spoon skills though.

We invite all parents of Year 6 children to join us and join in!   Year 5 children will be providing enthusiastic support from the sidelines, and should also wear house colours.

Important

A reminder regarding arrangements for the last day of term, 20th July.

We are asking please for parents to collect their children from school at 10.30 am to take to St Dunstans Church in Cranbrook for the end of year service at 11am.  We will hold the entire service at the church, including trophies and Year 6 awards.

Parents are welcome to join us.  Please can we leave seats at the front of the church for Year 6 and Reception parents whose children are taking part in the service.

After the service everyone is welcome to return to school for a picnic lunch and importantly this year, the PTFA summer fair.   You are welcome, though, to take your children directly home if you wish but with a BBQ and Pizza oven at the summer fair we are sure you won't want to miss it!

The Next Big Step

We are very much looking forward to seeing the Class 4 production of The Next Big Step on Thursday 14th July at 7pm.

We appreciate that restricting numbers does give some families childcare issues but we must make sure that we adhere to fire regulations and the Hall is not a huge space.   Safety for all is obviously our most important priority.

If you find yourselves really stuck, please contact us.

Breakfast Club and After School Clubs

From September we will be running the Breakfast Club in house.    We will be writing to you by the end of this year (academic year) with information about this. We also hope to confirm the clubs that will be running after school.

Please offer your support to clubs in order that we can continue to offer them.

Bee Assembly

On Thursday 14th July Class 3 will be holding a special Bee Assembly for their parents and the children in school.

The children in the class were so moved by the plight of the humble bee that they really wanted to put together an assembly to get the word out there.

How incredible it is to have inspired the children to want to put together an assembly and pass on their knowledge!
