     PTFA

Autumn Fair at The Vestry Hall, Cranbrook - Saturday 20th November 2021.

Get into the spirit of Christmas and add the date to your diary! Seize the opportunity to snap up tasty homemade produce, festive crafts and presents. There will be games for children to play and an opportunity to write to Father Christmas with their present wishes.

We would be delighted to receive any donations from parents of homemade chutneys, jams, homemade or unwanted gifts, teddies or chocolates for our stalls and tombolas. Thank you.

Wear your pyjamas to school - Thursday 4th November 2021.

This year, with the autumnal weather creeping in, we thought children might like the opportunity to stay snuggled up in their pj’s all day long! Parents can pay in chocolate for their child or children to take part. These donations will be very much appreciated for our Chocolate Tombola stall at the fair. Any chocolate is a winner, but the multi packs of various well loved chocolate bars always go down particularly well.

Next PTFA meeting - Monday 8th November 2021 at 2pm at the school. Everyone welcome.

Film night - the recent showing of Luca was a great success with over 80 children attending. They all seemed to have a great time with the younger ones, especially, demonstrating lovely concentration and listening skills. The sandwiches and biscuits went down well with all, with many coming back for seconds!

Amazon Smile - please don’t forget our lovely school when shopping online. You can easily sign up to Amazon Smile (smile.amazon.co.uk) and nominate Colliers Green primary school, which will receive a donation for every purchase you make - at no extra cost to you! It couldn’t be easier to do your bit for fundraising for our children. Remember, every penny that the PTFA raises goes directly to providing extra experiences, educational materials and events for every child to enjoy at the school. Our funds mean we can help to offer heavily reduced fees or even free, pantomime trips, Father Christmas gifts and lots more.

Easyfundraising

Did you know that we’re registered with easyfundraising and you could help us to raise funds for the school at no extra cost to yourself?

Since our fundraising events are on hold, this is a great opportunity to keep raising much needed funds for the school. When you shop online, with over 4,100 of your favourite retailers, including John Lewis & Partners, Amazon, eBay, notonthehighstreet, you will raise FREE donations for the school.

If you’re not already signed up, it only takes a few minutes, then you can begin using the easyfundraising website or app straightaway - simply shop online as normal. This will be an enormous help to the school, at no extra cost to yourself.

Clubs

All clubs recommence from Monday 1st November.

Uptake of clubs is pretty poor unfortunately and so we are looking for your support in attendance to continue to offer them.   It's simply not financially viable to run clubs with 2 or 3 children.

Premier Sport have reduced their fees and so why not take a look at what is on offer?  Also clubs such as Dance and Ball Skills are really good value for money!

After School

Please can we take a moment to remind you that once your child is dismissed at the end of the school day they are your responsibility and we would ask please for supervision.   We have had incidents of children climbing neighbours fences and accessing areas around the pond which, we hope you can appreciate, is a risk to them and upsets our neighbours.

There is also the added risk of the carpark itself with cars moving around.

Please can we stress that you keep your child with you at all times until you leave the site.   We cannot accept responsibility for any damage or accidents outside school time.

Thank you.

Forest School

Starts for Class 4 on Friday 5th November.

You will have received a letter with all the information you need and kit.  Please can you make sure your child has everything they need for this?  The weather is very changeable at the moment and we recommend layers and waterproofs!
