   We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Miss Evans for all of her hard work as Acting Deputy Head since September.

Staff Update

We would just like to update you with regards to cover in Classes 2 and 4.

Class 2

PPA cover will be taken by Ms Sharon Martin in Term 5 on Tuesday afternoons.  Ms Martin already knows half of Class 2 very well from her time in Reception last academic year. We look forward to welcoming her back.

Class 4

Class 4 PPA and leadership cover will work as follows.

Miss Hopkins will teach the class every morning and Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Mrs Cross, will teach the class on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

On Fridays, Class 4 will have PE with Premier Sport, then PSHE with Mrs Hirst, followed by Collective Worship and Mrs Hirst will dismiss them.

We look forward to welcoming Mrs Cross to the CG teaching team for Terms 5 and 6. Many of you will already know her well as Mum to Carla in Class 2.

Term 5 arrangements

We have not, as yet, received any further guidance from KCC or the DfE regarding the relaxing of regulations for Term 5.  Therefore, until we do so, we will continue to operate in four Class Bubbles with all arrangements remaining the same. We have an outline plan of how the Summer Term should normally look and will do our best to make sure as much of this happens, whether in its normal format, or an amended COVID - friendly format, as we can.

We have been advised by KCC of  carriageway maintenance works in Colliers Green Road, Cranbrook.  They have informed us as follows;

These works are programmed on 14th, 15th, 16th April (7am to 7pm) and 19th April (9.30am to 2.30pm),  2021

As you are aware 14th, 15th and 16th April are within the half term holiday week and should not cause too many problems, and we will only need to work on Monday 19th April to complete the scheme, if we are delayed during the previous week.

If we do work on 19th we will work off-peak in order to minimise any disruption to your school activities.

Please bear in mind that this programme is not completely set in stone (especially bearing in mind current unprecedented circumstances) and may be subject to unforeseen problems such and inclement weather or equipment breakdown, but rest assured we will still endeavour to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum.

Example Content

 Fidget toys

We understand that some children may benefit from a fidget toy to help them within class. Please may we ask however, that you discuss this need with the class teacher prior to sending anything in. Therefore, we can be best informed, advise accordingly and work together for the child's benefit. Thank you.

Clubs

We are looking to start clubs from Week 2 next term.   These will mainly be centred around outdoor clubs to help keep members in Bubbles.   We will send out an email in Week 1 to gauge interest for each club.

We hope to run;

Premier Sport Breakfast Club

Nick Dryden's Ball Skills Club

Millie Friday's Dance Club

Premier Sport After School Sports Clubs

These clubs are all dependent on numbers so if you are interested in your child attending, please let us know in Week 1.

 Assessments

We have invested in a new suite of assessments. Classes are working their way through these. This will therefore give us detailed information which we can share with you at Parent Consultations at the beginning of Term 5. The tests are computer adaptive and highly recommended. They will help us to assess gaps in current knowledge and areas of focus for classes, year groups and individuals.

More details to follow shortly about consultations which will be held virtually via zoom.
