Sports Premium
The Department for Education has awarded a PE & Sports grant to schools which will be reviewed in 2024. Our school has been allocated £17,120 for the academic year of September 2023 to July 2024. This is given to the school in instalments.
This funding has been used to develop and enrich our PE and Sport provision. To further encourage participation for the less active children, specialist lunchtime and after-school clubs are offered daily. Children have been trained as sports leaders, to empower them and promote a positive self-image as far as their sporting achievements are concerned.
The school expects participation in PE sessions to increase as well as the skill level of the children to progress. Through specialist teaching, the school also expects to see children thoroughly enjoying their sports and especially committing themselves to more after school sporting activities. Involvement and progression are measured termly.
Through the team teaching approach, the teaching staff will bring the learning into other parts of the curriculum. For example through RSHE; healthy living, team work and understanding how their decisions impact upon others around them.
