Digging deep!
Whilst the children have been enjoying the summer holidays, there is no rest for the Living Forest team! They have been busy clearing our environmental area. (Funded by Sussex Lund, a collaboration between the High Weald AONB Partnership and the Lund Trust, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.)
The decaying wood from the rotten dipping platform has been removed and a digger has been used to desilt the pond and re-shape it to create approximately 1m at the deepest point and grading to shallow water at the edges. Existing aquatic plants have been saved where possible and will be replanted by the children once work is completed.
