Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is a government grant given to all schools to help boost achievement for groups of children who might be considered as disadvantaged. The allocation is based on the number of children entitled to free school meals. The school is free to spend this premium in a way they think best supports the raising of achievement for the most vulnerable pupils.


The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools with pupils are roll who are:

  • eligible for free school meals (FSM) or who have been for any time in the last 6 years
  • looked after (LAC) by the Local Authority continuously for more than 6 months
  • Service families
