Green Team News

The Green Team are eagerly preparing for the upcoming RSPB Big School Bird Watch. This event will enable our pupils to connect with nature, learn about different bird species, and contribute valuable data to the RSPB's research as well as helping with our Green Flag renewal application!

We are seeking donations of bird food to create feeding stations around our school grounds. These feeding stations will attract a range of birds and give us the opportunity to observe and identify various species during the bird watch. If you are able to contribute, we are specifically looking for donations of bird seed, suet balls, nuts, and meal worms. Please leave any donations with staff at the school gates.

Many thanks for all your help. Remember, families can also get involved by taking part in RSPB  Big Garden Birdwatch

The Green Team are also hoping to make bird and bat boxes to put up in our school grounds as well as to sell to local families. If anybody can source some free or cheap wood for us please let Mrs Moorhouse know.

Young Voices

Miss Potts will be taking the school choir up to the O2 on Tuesday 16th January.

We very much look forward to seeing the pictures which we will put up on our Facebook page.

Please let the office know if you do not wish us to use your child's photo.

Thank you.

PTFA News

We’d like to share some photos of the first ever Colliers Green Wreath-making Workshop run by the PTFA on the 1st December last year. Set against the beautifully festive backdrop of Lower Lady’s Den farm shop (kindly donated by the Kember family for the evening), all had fun learning the origins of wreath making, the significance of traditional foliage used, and snipping, trimming and ribboning to their hearts’ content. The workshop raised  over £200 for the school, with sixteen beautiful wreaths resulting! We plan for this to be an annual event, friends and family welcome to sign up.

Last year’s Christmas Fair was a very merry event, held on school grounds for the first time in over ten years. Wonderfully supported by many parents and children, the fair featured an all-new grotto in the beautifully decorated Arc, with all other stalls set up in the hall which was decorated with festive artwork by the children. The PTFA pulled out all the stops to get the fair ready in time (at an already busy time of year!), so it was really lovely to see everyone having fun throughout the day. Best of all, together we raised over a thousand pounds for the school!

Mrs Everett

It is with great sadness that we have to let families know that Mrs Everett is leaving Colliers Green at the end of this term.    As a family they have decided to move to the west country, of course we are very excited for them and this next stage in their lives.    Mrs Everett has been with us since 2017 and she is a truly dedicated and valued member of staff, we will miss her greatly.

We are currently advertising for the positon and we will keep you informed as and when we have filled the role.

Good Luck Mrs Everett, we hope you will keep in touch.   You have all our love and support.

Attendance

We will be sending out information relating to your child/ren's attendance year to date by the end of this week.    Please can we draw your attention to the expectation of attendance, as demonstrated by this chart.

Of course, we appreciate that children have coughs and colds and at this time of year it is more of a challenge but we are happy to support children to 'soldier on' with medication if you feel they are able to do so.   Afterall,  as an adult there is an expectation to be at work if you have a cold.

Thank you for your support with attendance.
