Children in Need

Thursday 16th November

The school council and Mrs Salter have come up with some fun activities to help raise money for Children in Need next Thursday the 16th November.

We invite all children to come into school in their PJ's (make sure they are warm ones please!) and bring a teddy (not too precious please!) for a donation to the charity.    A link will be available on Monday to pay via ParentPay and any donation you can spare will be most appreciated for families less fortunate than our own.

The School Council children will also be running various games and activities at lunchtime for 20p and 50p  a go so please provide your child with a purse to spend some money for a good cause.    We will not have change available so please provide correct denominations.

Thank you for your support.

Football Tournament at Dulwich

Mr Ross accompanied our team to a tournament at Dulwich on Tuesday.

The team played against Lamberhurst in the first round and won 1-0 with Emerson scoring.  Second game they played Loose and lost 2-0.    But it did mean we finished second in our group and therefore made it to the quarter finals where we played Wittersham unfortunately losing 3-0.

The team also played a friendly with Sissinghurst and won an impressive 6-0 with Logan scoring a hat trick,  Emerson scoring two goals and Evie one.

Our player of the tournament was Joe who showed great defending and never gave up with such energy and enthusiasm.

Thank you to Mr Ross and the parents who accompanied the children.    Thank you to Mr Warburton who has helped coach the team this season so far.

Next tournament is Netball on Wednesday 15th November.

Parents' Evening

If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, please can we ask that you drop us a line via Studybugs or with a phone call?  If your child is off school due to illness we don't automatically assume you will not be attending.

Please can we also ask that you check your appointments, which you can do at any time via the form in each Google Classroom.  Missed appointments cannot easily be rescheduled at other times and so it may not be possible to have another opportunity to meet until the next sessions in the Easter Term.   Teachers put a lot of effort into preparing for these meetings and it is disappointing when there are 'no shows' with no explanation.

The next sessions are Monday 13th November and Tuesday 14th November.

Thank you.

Friendship Week

Next week we will be focusing on Friendships in school and how to be kind, caring and considerate of our classmates and community here at Colliers Green.  Each day we will award certificates to children in each class that are demonstrating kindness and care to others.   We will use storybooks and other activities to reinforce 'the Colliers Green way' and to make it clear that we expect all children to be kind to one another and considerate of each others' feelings.
