Residential Trip

We have been very pleased to see pictures of our Class 4 children having an amazing time at Hilltop in Norfolk.

Thank you very much to Mrs Moorhouse, Miss Potts and Mrs Salter giving up a great deal of their own time to attend with the children (they thoroughly enjoy it!)

As we write they will be on their way home, hopefully with loads of wonderful stories to tell you.

From Miss Hopkins...

It seems like it’s been no time at all since we all came back at the beginning of September, all shiny shoes and slightly-too-large uniform, and yet here we are at the end of term 1! I am enormously proud of how well everyone has done this term: the reception children have settled in beautifully, as have all of our new starters, and the other children that have moved up into a new year group, and potentially with a new teacher, have all been marvellous. There has been so much learning occurring and I have seen some great work as I have dropped in to each class. Special mention to Class 4, who have continued to be a pleasure to teach three days a week. I can’t wait to hear all about their adventures on the residential.

It’s was very lovely to see so many of you at the Harvest Festival, and the open classroom session last week, plus I hear the phonics workshop for Class 1 parents this week was very well attended. It’s been really nice to start the year by being able to open our doors and invite you in.

In spite of a fairly dire weather forecast, I hope that you all have a pleasant, and restful break over the half term. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 31st. Take care.

Harvest Service

Thank you to all the parents who were able to come along to our Harvest Service, we hope you found it as enjoyable as we did!  The children sang and spoke beautifully.

A video of the service is available on the Google Classrooms, apologies that the sound is not as good as it could be.

Thank you for your most generous donations.   We will deliver this to our local foodbank very soon.

Reminders

Please can we take a moment to remind you;

On PE days children come into school in their PE kit.   Please can we ask that this is the school PE kit with a school jumper.  We have noticed a few football shirts and jumpers, colourful leggings and un-badged t-shirts,  uniform only please.

After your child has been collected from the teacher at the end of the day, please can we remind you that the children are then your responsibility and they should be kept with you at all times and supervised.   We have seen some damage to property (and indeed children themselves) in the past and we cannot take responsibility for this after school hours.

Finally, we are a Healthy School and so please can we remind you to provide healthy snacks;   vegetables or fruit.  No chocolate or crisps for snacks please and we would also ask that they are not included in their lunchboxes either please.

Thank you.

Christmas Service

Our Christmas Service is on Friday 15th December at St Dunstan's church in Cranbrook.   We will be asking for children to be collected from school at approximately 1.30 pm and taken to the church for the service at 2pm.  This will finish at 3pm (ish) and then you are free to take your children home directly from the church for the end of the term.    There will be no clubs on this day.

Reminder!

Parent Evening consultations are scheduled for the week commencing 6th November and 13th November.   We will advise of the days next term but worth keeping these weeks free!
