Newsletter No 13 - 29th April 2022

Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone,  we are pleased to see the children back refreshed and super keen to start this term.

Can we please take this term to remind parents to let us know of any changes to contact details to let the office know.    Our main methods of communication are via Studybugs and email and we do post things on Facebook.    We will usually send reminders via two different mediums.

Creepy Claws Visit - Class 2

Thank you to Mrs Gibbs who organised a visit from Creepy Claws on Tuesday.   The children learnt some amazing facts about various creatures and we even had a chance to touch and hold some of them.

The children (and staff!) thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

School Site Clean Up

We will be scheduling a school tidy up day on a Saturday soon, any helpers most gratefully received.

We have loads of little jobs that need doing from weeding to painting and fixing.

Please keep an eye out for the date via Studybugs soon.

We want to look our best afterall!

Parent Consultations

A reminder that there are two more days next week for Parent consultations with your Class Teachers.

If you are having difficulty signing up, please contact the office for assistance.

Thank you.

SATs Week

The Week Commencing 9th May is SATs week for our Year 6s in school.

In order to get the best for your child we would recommend early nights and a good hearty breakfast!

It is so very important that your child is in school every day of these SATs as they form the basis of marks and forecasting for GCSEs.

Visitors in Class 1

We are so pleased that we have seen the arrival of some lovely little chicks in Class 1 finally this week!

We have already had the joy of a hold!

Thanks to Mrs Everett and Miss Evans for organising them for us.

PTFA News

IPADS

The PTFA are delighted to confirm that the majority of the committee voted in favour of donating the remaining £2,070 shortfall to purchase the 17 iPads for the school.  This will be a wonderful resource for all the children to enjoy.

Thank you to those parents/firms who donated towards this amazing resource and to the PTFA for their incredible generosity.

PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Don’t forget that the PTFA will be hosting a school celebration on the playing fields immediately after school on Friday 27th May 2022.  There will be all sorts of fun activities for the children, food, drink and also a Raffle of Experiences.  The latter will consist of prizes for families to enjoy days out together.  If anyone has any ideas for local companies or restaurants we could contact to enquire about prize donations, or if your own a business and would like to offer a prize voucher, please get in touch with the PTFA’s Chairperson, Andrea Henry.  Alternatively, please email colliersgreen.ptfa@gmail.com
