Magic Lantern Workshops

On Thursday 11th November, Helen from Magic Lantern visited Classes 2, 3 & 4, to teach the children about art history. Class 2 looked at The Moon, Class 3 Bridges and Class 4 Ancient Monuments & Murals. The children really enjoyed the workshops, and we had lovely feedback from Helen about how articulate and enthusiastic they were. Thank you for your contributions that enabled the children to have this great experience.

Covid Update

It is that time of year when we are all susceptible to coughs and colds and so it's important to remind families of the current Public Health England advice regarding Covid 19.

Self-isolate straight away and get a PCR test (a test that is sent to the lab) on GOV.UK as soon as possible if you have any of these 3 symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

You should also self-isolate straight away if:

  • you've tested positive for COVID-19 – this means you have the virus
  • someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive (unless you are not required to self-isolate – check link below if this applies to you)
  • you've been told to self-isolate following contact with someone who tested positive – find out what to do if you're told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or the NHS COVID-19 app

Here is the link with all the detailed information.   Please take a moment to read this information.

Carpark

Please can we take a moment to remind you to take extra care in the carpark when dropping off your children.

The school is not liable for any loss or damage to your vehicles whilst  on our premises.

Please can we ask that you leave promptly after dropping off your child/ren.   This is to improve the flow of traffic in the carpark.  We have staggered the drop off times,

8.50 for Classes 1 and 2 and 9.00 for Classes 3 and 4.

The gates will close at 9.05 so please use the main entrance if you fall outside these times.

Please be mindful of dog mess, unfortunately even though we have put up signs, it is a public right of way!

Thank you ...

Very much to the Wardman family for donating to the school a Christmas tree!

We can't wait to put it up and enjoy it!

     PTFA

Autumn Fair

We held our annual Autumn fair at the Vestry Hall in Cranbrook last Saturday.  After many weeks of planning, organising, making crafts, requesting raffle prizes & washing teddies by members of the PTFA, the fair was a huge success.

Stalls on the day were run by members of school staff, PTFA members and parents.  The general feedback was that everyone felt it was a lovely atmosphere and nice to have a little more normality back.  Who would have known 'Hook a Duck' was one of the most popular stalls!

Many thanks to all of the PTFA who helped, most especially our Treasurer Magda Marner & Kelly McAtee.

It is only through support for events such as the Autumn fair that we can have funds to support the school in ways such as paying for school trips, the Pantomime and much more.

The final figure raised will be coming out via Studybugs and Facebook next week.

Thank you again

Andrea Henry

Chair of the PTFA

Snacks in School

Please can we remind you to provide your child/ren with a healthy snack for breaktime?   Fresh fruit or vegetables and YoYo bars are acceptable but please can we ask for no cereal bars or cakes.

Lost Property

We have an extraordinary amount of lost property in school at the moment, unnamed jumpers and cardigans and even tights!

We will put the box out next week for parents to have a look through (dependant on the weather obviously).

Please can we ask that you make sure your child/ren's names are in every item in order that they can be returned to you!

Thank you,

Children in Need

Raised £278 this year.   Thank you so much to everyone for their contributions.

Big thank you to Mrs Gibbs and the School Council for their organisation of the afternoon.   Much fun was had by all!
