Anti-Bullying Week

This year Anti-Bullying Week is going to be held on 16th-20th November 2020. We will be holding an odd socks day to raise awareness alongside many activities in class and in Collective Worship. Bullying is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. We will also be working with pupils for them to fully understand that bullying means that behaviour is repeated and intentional.

Please remember to send your children in with odd socks on Monday 16th November!

Please have a look at these parent resources which we will be sharing with the children

Remembrance 2020

Our theme for Collective Worship this term is Remembrance and all pupils took part in a 2 minute silence at 11am, on the 11th day of the 11th month. We were unable to attend at St Dunstans this year due to the pandemic but think it vital that all pupils show their respect at this time. During the week other Remembrance activities have taken place in classes making poppies and talking about how important it is to take the time to remember.

Carpark Guidance Please

Our new car park is a total blessing but please can we ask a couple of things of you? Please be careful when parking on the field side of the car park, near to the gates, as the verge is very squidgy and two parents have got stuck over the last two days. Please keep all wheels stay on the hard surface! As the ground generally gets wetter, please can we ask that children, especially those in Class 4, when waiting to come in in the mornings, stand on the hard surface not on the muddy ground please. We wish to keep our lovely new school mud free. Please can we ask parents to follow social distancing guidance carefully when waiting for their children. Thank you, we all need to stay safe. Please can we request that children do not play in the trees / with sticks/ the bonfire site etc. The car park is not set up for playtime and we wish to keep all of our children safe. If you are waiting for older/younger siblings, please can we ask that the children waiting with you only mix with their class bubble. Otherwise, all of the hard work keeping bubbles separate within school can be undone and increase risk. Thank you so much for your understanding and support.

Christmas

Please be assured that we are looking at our Christmas events that we would usually hold and seeing how we can adapt as many of these as possible to enable them to happen this year. We are committed, as are our wonderful PTFA, to making Christmas a very special time at CG and we will let you know more details asap.

Parents Eve

This year we entered the world of Virtual Parent Evenings, which was quite daunting! We were determined to preserve the face to face contact, even if this could not be in the same room. We are really pleased with how well these have worked and hope you are too. Thank you to all those that booked an appointment; it is really important to us to be able to communicate to you regarding your child's education and well-being, especially at this time, thank you.

We have been asked to remind our families of the Covid Contact Guidelines;

What do we mean by a ‘contact’ with regards to COVID-19?

A ‘contact’ is a person who has been close to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 anytime from 2 days before the person was symptomatic up to 10 days from onset of symptoms (this is when they are infectious to others). For example, a contact can be:
• people who spend significant time in the same household as a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
• a person who has had face-to-face contact (within one metre), with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
• a person who has been within 2 metres of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes
• a person who has travelled in a small vehicle with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or in a large vehicle or plane near someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
