Staff News

At the end of July this year we are saying 'Goodbye' to Mrs Keith who is very happy to be joining Mr Keith in  retirement.

Mrs Keith has been with us for 20 years and so it goes without saying that the school will really miss her.

With all the restrictions that are in place we are hindered in having a 'proper' send off but we hope to do something for her in the new school year.

We would all like to take this opportunity to wish her a very happy retirement.   Perhaps we can entice her back to hold a much loved quiz session with the children!

Some of you may already know that Miss Hopkins was very proud to announce the arrival of her baby daughter, Phoebe, last month.   She arrived a little earlier than expected and both Mum and Baby (and Dad!) are all doing very well.

Miss Hopkins would like to say a very big thank you for the lovely cards and gifts that parents have so kindly sent her.

We very much look forward to meeting Phoebe very soon.

We are very pleased to welcome Miss Arthur to Colliers Green.   Miss Arthur will be covering Miss Hopkins class role whilst she is on maternity leave.

My name is Miss Arthur and I have been a teacher for 11 years. I feel very lucky to be a teacher and to have the opportunity to help children progress and grow. My job makes me smile everyday.

In my private life I love to spend time with my family. I have two children, so I enjoy family trips to the zoo and going on holiday together.

I am really looking forward to starting a new journey at Colliers Green. I look forward to meeting my new pupils and beginning our adventure together.

We are very pleased to welcome Miss Evans to Colliers Green.   Miss Evans will be teaching Class 1 three days a week and also covering Miss Hopkins' deputy head role whilst she is on maternity leave.

Hello, my name is Miss Evans and I am thrilled to be starting at Colliers Green C of E Primary School in September as one of the teachers in Class 1.  I cannot wait to meet you and look forward to starting our learning adventure together.  I was born and raised in East Sussex before heading to Bath Spa University in 1991 to study to become a teacher. I began my teaching career in London in 1999 and I have been teaching in my current school for the last 21 years, with 14 of those being in Reception. I really enjoy going for walks in my spare time and there is nothing better than getting up bright and early to make the most of our wonderful countryside.    When I am not busy in the classroom, I love to get involved in little creative projects alongside my 3 year old daughter.  Some of my passions in life include horse riding, cooking, reading, spending time with family and friends and finding new places to explore.
I have already had a little look around your wonderful school and it looks like an amazing place to be.  I can’t wait to join you there!

Google Classroom

As you know, we are moving to Google Classroom from Monday 15th June and you will have received an email with instructions to get signed up.     Work for next week for your children will be posted on this site.   Please sign up asap!

If you have any problems joining, please use the videos sent to help, please email us via the office or to Mrs B directly (Ibarstow@colliers-green.kent.sch.uk).  We are very excited to be using this new platform.   A BIG thank you to Mrs B for putting so much time and effort in to setting this all up for the school.

Thank you ...

We wanted to pass on a BIG THANK YOU to all of our Colliers Green Community; Mums, Dads and all of our children for how incredible you have all been during this very difficult time.    We have had a great deal of support from parents and we know how difficult it is to juggle teaching children and trying to work from home, as many of us are mums too.

We are regularly aiming to improve the way we deliver provision to our families so please keep in touch with us.    If we can help in any way, feel free to call.   Even if you just need to have a chat.

It is so lovely to have happy children learning in school! We are just sorry that it is not all children back at CG. We are really looking forward to a time when we are all back together.
